Annual Sports Day Event 2024 செப்டம்பர் 14 அன்று TAGDV வருடாந்திர விளையாட்டு தினத்தை (Sports Day) நடத்தியது. இதில் மூன்று முக்கிய நிகழ்வுகள் நடந்தது: ஆண்கள் வாலிபால், பெண்களுக்கான த்ரோபால் மற்றும் TAGDV உறுப்பினர்களின் குழந்தைகள் விளையாட்டு தினம். வாலிபால் போட்டியில் பென்சில்வேனியா, டெலாவேர், நியூ ஜெர்ஸி ஆகிய மாநிலங்களில் இருந்து 10 அணிகள் பங்கேற்றன. இதில் Falcon அணி வெற்றி கோப்பையை வென்றது, மற்றும் Mechanicsburg Strikers அணி இரண்டாம் இடத்தை பெற்றது. பெண்கள் த்ரோபால் போட்டியில் மூன்று அணிகள் பங்கேற்றன. இதில் PSC Rockers அணி வெற்றி கோப்பையை வென்றது, மற்றும் Thillana Vibes அணி இரண்டாம் இடத்தை பெற்றது. குழந்தைகள் விளையாட்டு தினத்தில் சுமார் 90 குழந்தைகள் 50 meter/ 100 meter ஓட்டப் பந்தயம், எலுமிச்சை மற்றும் கரண்டி(lemon & spoon), பைபந்தயம்(Sack race), 4x100 மீட்டர் ஓட்டம் (relay) போன்ற போட்டிகளில் ஆர்வத்துடன் பங்கேற்றனர். மழலையர்கள் முதல் 12-ஆம் வகுப்பு வரை உள்ள குழந்தைகள் மிகுந்த உற்சாகத்துடன் பங்கேற்றதை காண ஆழ்ந்த மகிழ்ச்சி அளித்தது. TAGDV Annual Sports Day For the first time ever, we are thrilled to announce that this year’s TAGDV Sports Day will be an inclusive event! We are happy to announce that now registration is open for all TAGDV members, kids upto college can participate in kids sports day events and we are especially excited to invite kids of all abilities to register and join the fun. This is more than just a sports event; it’s a celebration of our community’s unity, diversity, and spirit. We are looking for volunteers and sponsors for this event. Mental Health Awareness Workshop We are thrilled to announce that TAGDV, in partnership with Nemours Hospital, will be hosting a Mental Health Awareness Workshop. This event is dedicated to addressing the mental health needs of children and their caregivers. Join us for an insightful and supportive session aimed at fostering well-being and understanding. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, share, and connect! Dr. MacLean will be presenting on pediatric mental health, specifically mood, anxiety, and behavioral presentations that are common amongst children. She will highlight the impact of mental health on overall functioning and highlight treatment recommendations and resources for families. Dr. Menon will  be presenting on  the topic of autism spectrum disorder and co-occurring mental and healthcare issues in autism spectrum disorders. TAGDV Tamil Literary Event - சங்க காலத்தில் தமிழர்களின் வணிகங்களும் அதன் எல்லைகளும் TAGDV'ன் சங்க இலக்கிய கலந்துரையாடல் நிகழ்ச்சி மிகவும் சிறப்பாக நடந்தது. TAGDV'ன் பேச்சாளர்கள் சங்க இலக்கியத்தை மேற்கோள் காட்டி தமிழர்களின் வணிகத்தைப் பற்றி சிறப்பாக உரையடினார்கள். முனைவர் பாரதி. ச, கடல் கடந்த வணிகம் பற்றியும், திருமதி. அல்லி ந, நிலம் சார்ந்த (தினைகள்) வணிகம் பற்றியும் , திரு. குமார் தி, வணிக போக்குவரத்து சாதனங்கள் பற்றியும், முனைவர் மனோகரன், இரா தமிழர்களின் வணிக அறத்தை பற்றியும் சிறப்பாக பேசினர். Q & A Session with NRI Tamils Welfare Board Chair Thiru.Karthikeya Senapathy ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் TAGDV அடிப்படை, இடைநிலை மற்றும் மேம்பட்ட நிலைகளுக்கான TVA தேர்வுகளை நடத்தி வருகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டு PA மற்றும் DE சென்டர்களில் நடைப் பெற்ற இந்தத் தேர்வில் 77 மாணவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். TVA தேர்வில் கலந்து கொண்ட எல்லாம் மாணவர்களுக்கும், அவர்களுக்கு ஊக்கம் அளித்து உறுதுணையாக நின்ற பெற்றோர்களுக்கும் தமிழ்ப் பள்ளி ஆசிரியர்களுக்கும் எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். இந்தத் தேர்வைச் சிறந்த முறையில் நடத்த உதவிய செயற்குழு உறுப்பினர்களுக்கும் தன்னார்வலர்களுக்கும் எங்கள் நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். TVA தேர்வைத் தொடர்ந்து அயலகத் தமிழர் நல வாரியத் தலைவர்த் திரு.கார்த்திகேய சிவசேனாபதியுடன் ஒரு கேள்வி பதில் அமர்வு நடைபெற்றது. மிகக் குறுகிய காலத்தில் எங்களின் அழைப்பை மனதார ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட திரு.கார்த்திகேய சிவசேனாபதி அவர்களுக்கு எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். அயலகத் தமிழர் நல வாரியத்தின் நோக்கத்தைப் பற்றியும் அதன் செயல்பாடுகள் பற்றியும் உலகம் முழுவதும் இருக்கக்கூடிய தமிழ் மக்களுடைய தேவைகள் என்னென்ன என்பதைப் பற்றியும் அதற்கு வாரியம் எடுக்கக் கூடிய நடவடிக்கைகள் பற்றியும் பேசினார். அயலகத் தமிழர் நல வாரியத்தின் செயல்பாடுகளை பற்றி அயலகத்தில் வாழும் தமிழ் மக்கள் என்ன நினைக்கிறார்கள் என்பதைக் கேட்டு அறிந்து கொண்டார். அனைத்துக் கேள்விகளுக்கும் மிகவும் பொறுமையாகப் பதிலளித்தார். இந்தக் கேள்வி பதில் அமர்வு மிகவும் பயனுள்ளதாக இருந்தது. As part of these efforts, TAGDV recently hosted a “meet and greet” session with Mr. Karthikeya Senapathy, Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Government Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Board (https://nrtamils.tn.gov.in/en/).This session, which was free for our members, provided an opportunity for an in-depth and focused interaction with Mr. Senapathy. During the event, Mr. Senapathy outlined the functions and recent activities of the NRI Board and addressed a variety of questions from attendees. He was impressed by the thoughtful and diverse questions posed by our members and responded to each one with patience and expertise. He also offered to facilitate connections between our members and other relevant Tamil Nadu government agencies as needed. Key topics discussed during the Q&A session included: Education equivalency certifications Medical seat admissions for NRI children whose parents have returned to India Assistance in emergency situations involving family visits to the US Support for NRIs wanting to set up businesses or ventures in Tamil Nadu Insurance services Filing police complaints through special NRI channels and monitoring progress (https://eservices.tnpolice.gov.in/CCTNSNICSDC/NRICell) Legal help Student exchange programs Navigating property inheritance issues for children born or raised in India TAGDV is considering registering our organization with the NRI Board to serve as a conduit for addressing community members' questions. This initiative would be the first of its kind in the country, and we plan to share our experiences with other Tamil Sangams.
