Brief Bio (200 words)
|
I am a professional employed at Johnson & Johnson, and I live in Royersford with my family: wife, Sutha and our delightful children, Navein and Sana. My association with TAGDV commenced in 2009, and I’m sincerely delighted to have held life membership since 2014. For over a decade, I’ve actively volunteered at the Plymouth Meeting Tamil School, beginning in 2010. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving TAGDV in various capacities, including roles on the Executive Committee, as President, and representing the organization as a FETNA Delegate. During 2018-19, I played a pivotal role in the establishment of Exton Tamil Palli, providing a valuable resource for local families seeking convenient Tamil education. In the momentous year of 2020, we had the honor of hosting a completely sold-out “Neeya Naana” show featuring Vijay Tv Gopinath in Delaware. Additionally, we curated cultural displays and conducted a “Mullaipari” with large number of women participations, further enriching our vibrant Tamil heritage. In the face of the challenging COVID-19 pandemic, we organized a diverse range of virtual events, including College Prep workshops and literary gatherings, offering vital support to students in their educational pursuits. Furthermore, we successfully spearheaded a COVID fundraiser, raising $8,000 in collaboration with FETNA, the mother organization of all Tamil Sangams in NA. |
My promises to TAGDV Patrons? (200 words) |
My foremost promise is to safeguard the autonomy of the Executive Committee, ensuring it operates independently, free from external influences. Transparency and accountability will be the guiding principles in our decision-making processes, consistently putting the best interests of TAGDV first. I am resolute in my dedication to maintaining the financial well-being of our organization by organizing effective fundraising events. This not only ensures our sustainability but also provides the necessary resources to support our diverse initiatives. I will actively work towards the implementation of a comprehensive archival policy, centralizing the storage of essential documents, including meeting minutes, and receipts. In collaboration with the Executive Committee, I will vigorously pursue substantial representation of FETNA delegates, strengthening our presence within the FETNA Board. This will enhance our capability to host FETNA in the Philadelphia region, bolstering our standing and influence on a broader scale. I will also actively engage in fundraising efforts, partnering with the Executive Committee to support both our local community and our homeland in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, I pledge to ensure that the Board oversees the protection of all data. Additionally, I commit to disclosing and disengaging myself in cases where conflicts of interest arise within the organization. With these commitments, my goal is to contribute to the growth and prosperity of TAGDV, ensuring that our organization remains robust, transparent, and influential in the years to come. |
